SEE-Q - A Guide for Sikhs in Britain

Every Sikh believes that God can't be understood properly by human beings, but he can be experienced through love, worship, and contemplation.

A View of the Sikh Religion

By Gurnoor Grewal at 2009-03-30 06:36:20
The Sikh religion was established in the Punjab region of India by Guru Nanak in the 15th Century but in these days Sikh religion has spread throughout the world and sikhism is Britain’s third most popular religion, with about half a million Sikhs living in the UK. In Britain Seeq create a team of volunteers from different age groups and backgrounds that promote community and religious spirit. Seeq team regularly gives up our precious time and money ready to promote Sikhism in Britain and socially and personally help to develop the young people. Seeq is open to ideas and criticism, and assure to try their best in everything that they do.

At seeq.net the unique aim of Seeq team is provide the occupied information about Sikh religion for awareness in Sikh people living in Britain. Seeq Team was launched a magazine back in November that contained information of Sikh religion, culture, the meaning of Mool Manter etc so that the new Sikh generation can take knowledge about their religion, culture, Sikh scripture etc.

Today young Sikh people believe Guru Granth Sahib Ji is a book, but in this magazine Seeq team describe that it’s not a book in reality it’s our living Guru. They evidently explained the Banee of Guru Granth Sahib Ji gives us support and guidance in our daily lives because Bani comes direct from the Lord himself.

Seeq team describes the life of Sikh woman in this magazine. In past, woman was referred to as man’s shoe and she does only household work, and serves the male members of society. In Sikhism, the Holy Scriptures have clearly stated that the Sikh woman must always be regarded as an equal with man and has all the rights and privileges enjoyed by a man. Guru Nanak Dev ji said:

“So kyun manda aakhye jin jamme rajaan”

At Seeq.net the volunteers of Seeq team want every Sikh in Britain focus their lives around their relationship with God, and being a part of the Sikh community. And every
Sikh believes that God can't be understood properly by human beings, but he can be experienced through love, worship, and contemplation.
